  • The seafood platter we had was scrumptious. Everything was mouthwatering. The atmosphere is friendly and the view fantastic. Highly recommended.  more »
  • It is an integral and important part of the old Venetian Harbour, and as the walls of the Fort Firkas also originated with the Venetians in ' 600. The magic of the sunset on the harbour is also animated by the warning beacon and his Dim but evocative lighting; accessible along the quay that starts on the eastern side of the Harbour, near the Maritime Museum

  • The Chania lighthouse, beacon of hope for sailors but also for those of Earth! It's nice to walk all the way to the lighthouse. On one side you have the sea ... huge in front of you and on the other, the lights of the city of Chania. A walk to do surely

  • Beautiful ocean views on one side and views of the town on the other. If you enjoy lighthouses, this is one you need to visit.
  • Great view around the light house. Wear adequate footwear. Path leading to the light house is rough and full of sharp stones.
  • I haven't been inside but it's a lovely lighthouse at the end of a beautiful pier. Worth having a look.
  • Do not be bored people. It's around 500-600m of extra walking to reach to the end where the lighthouse is. The view from that side is magnificent. Make sure you wear sneakers because the path is rough on several places and your feet might get hurt.
  • Great view. The road to the lighthouse is "bumpy" so you should wear a shoes ~700 m to get there. The view when sun goes down is really amazing.

Where to stay in Chania Town

Many package tourists on Crete stay in comfortable hotels outside Chania Town, though this lively seaport offers accommodations ranging from inexpensive hostels to five-star resorts. If you too prefer to stay out of town, consider one of the surrounding area's well-appointed villas and apartments, which provide secure parking and access to private outdoor spaces. Stick to the city's harbor area for fine shopping and dining, or check out the old town's boutique hotels for good atmosphere, friendly service, and proximity to sandy beaches.
