  • Our country has so many historical places that unfortunately few people visit. One of these is the Museum of Marathon and the field where 2500 years ago became a battle between the Republic which had just been developed in the city of Athens and the Persian Empire. There was a battle where it considered the future of the city and of Greece and destroyed the myth of the Persian army. And of course don't miss the statue of Miltiades winner where in addition to the strategy that brought the victory was he in his speech after the vote of 10 generals forced the warlord of the Athenians Callimachus to take the decision to attack.

  • Walking through this ancient battlefield dredges up ghosts of the past, especially if you are somewhat familiar with Greek history. It is a place to visit if you have the interest, Also worth driving ...  more »
  • During four visits in four years time (in March) I am the park only two Greek school classes come across and no one else ... The park is located on the site of the famous battle in 490 BC between Athenians and Persians took place. A scale model explains. In the spring there is a lush flora. The museum is 5 km away. You can hold the adjacent Hall with the family graves. They were in ancient times been used for centuries.
