  • Hours served on the Internet proved to be inconsistent with the reality. For the first time Kiss handle. On Sunday, in theory, we should go without a problem but all went on the manifestation and the Museum was closed. In the end, the third time success. If someone loves the military-it's worth it. A lot of the exhibits, not always well lit. The lack of information in English. Support not necessarily helpful

  • Entry 4 euros. The exposition about the Greek special forces during the second world war, Cyprus events, war in Korea (Greeks and registered there), as well as general historical from antiquity to World War II. Quite strange: for Alexander immediately goes Byzantium, and then the war of independence. As if between these nothing really happening. Good halls about the war for independence, the first and the second world war. The remaining highly inferior. Exhibited weapons, awards, uniforms, equipment and layouts, cards, banners, personal belongings of famous Greek military and politicians. In a Word, everything that is connected with the war and the army. Descriptions in English. Many of the exhibits are a reproduction of the originals from other museums. On the ground floor was still a private collection of arms and armour, possibly good. Unfortunately, we don't hit. At the entrance are exhibited several aircraft and other military equipment. One word for City Museum-not bad. Especially if you are interested in all. Male children will be thrilled.

  • This is a wee gem of a museum. Nice range of exhibits. Not everything has English translations though.
  • Interesting and very good structured museum. Good sortiment of scale models in the shop.
  • Traditional style war museum but we'll done. Plenty for the hardware buff and historian alike.
  • Great collection of stuff since ancient times till recent history.
  • Lot of Beautiful weapons and a lot of interesting history, a visit is completely worth it.

Where to stay in Athens

If you come to Athens for its ancient history, stay in Plaka, a lively neighborhood located within walking distance of the city's major archaeological sites. Although relatively expensive, hotels in this part of town offer spacious rooms, private swimming pools, and rooftop cocktail bars. For less expensive but equally comfortable lodgings, consider boutique hotels and family-run inns in the quiet residential neighborhoods just a short drive south of Plaka. Good rooms fill up early in the season, so plan ahead and book in advance.
