Tzistarakis Mosque (Greek: Τζαμί Τζισταράκη, Turkish: Cizderiye Camii) is an Ottoman mosque, built in 1759, in Monastiraki Square, central Athens, Greece. It is now functioning as an annex of the Museum of Greek Folk Art.

  • During our time in the city it was seemingly between exhibitions and not open. Nevertheless it is prominent in the great square and it was grand to view its former dominance. It now hosts modern...  more »
  • This building sits adjacent to Hadrian’s library in the southeast corner of Monsatiraki Square. It was built during the Ottoman era and is currently utilized as a museum.  more »

  • Beautiful and peaceful, alyhough it's located in the middle of a commercial area like a bazaar with many shops, taverns and terraces.
