  • The University of Athens is called Kapodistrian University in honor of John Capodistria, first President of independent Greece. To get there just take Metro M2 Panepistimio station and red. The building, known as the "trilogy", is the middle one, between the Academy and the national library. Designed by Theophil Hansen in 1859 but completed in 1885, today serves as the Rectory and Hall of ceremonies. Outside, beyond the pillars, we can see a series of large frescoes, while in the forecourt entrance we see the statues of Plato and Socrates. The UOA has more than 50,000 students and is considered the most prestigious University of Greece. Thanks for reading my review. I've written more for Athens, but also on Paris, London, Rome, Milan. If you feel like it will be very welcome a link to vote useful below.

  • The set of three buildings that make up the University is a classic beauty typical of the architecture of the city. As if that wasn't enough, I was allowed to enter into an academic cause on the day of the visit. Exciting!
