  • beautiful outer Colonnade, the Museum inside is very small one hallway with the two sides display cases containing a large number of Antiquities but already seen in other museums.

  • This reproduction, made by Rockefeller, shows very well the proportions of a Greek Agora. The walk here is very educational.

  • Only had an hour to see it but it was not enough! There are a lot of really nice paths and you can definitely take your time and enjoy the natural surroundings. The main site it the Temple of Hephaestus. The Agora museum is good if a bit small. The staff were really good about shuffling people out at closing time while still respecting the fact that most people are tourists and just want a quick picture.
  • Not much is left but it is still great, you have to use your imagination. Go with a good guide visual guidebook or a real guide. what a great setting. Looking at this and then the market outside was repeatedly reminded "this too shall pass".
  • When you visit the Acropolis you can get a €20 ticket for just the Acropolis or €30 for one that does another 6 or 7 historical sites. If you get the €30 ticket (you should) then the Ancient Agora is definitely the second best site from the the selection. Large, interesting archaeological site, featuring a small but good museum housed in a recreated ancient market building, plus huge array of ruins to walk amongst. Could easily occupy several hours wandering around.
  • A large expanse of nicely preserved ruins. Lots of historical monuments. The temple and the museum are the highlights. It a decent trek especially if you have kids.
  • One of the best archaeological site in the world! When you walk around it you actually feel like an ancient Athenian!
