  • Unique architecture building at beginnings of plaque that like go inside the diaktinizesai in other seasons ... One of a kind, not just not reminiscent of Museum, but looks like a visitor to sergianizei whole Greece through traditional sounds and sounds ... Valuable help in this are the headphones out from every storefront that exhibits musical instruments and reproduce their sounds. All music delivery and development of folk music unfolds in three floors of the Museum in a unique way (from animal bells as the bells and from Woodwinds as the institutions of Asia, kanonakia etc.). Top all the lyre Xylouri, the guitar of Danae and other great artists! One of the most friendly museums in all age groups with a gorgeous garden, eywdiazei on the outside of the part.

  • Located next to the Tower of the winds, this small museum houses interesting findings etnomusicologici of Greek culture and the Balkans. By percussion and wind instruments consisting of animal materials (skin, bone) to the more modern Bozouki and Polish/Santouri. The entrance to the property is complimentary and there are headphones ahead of many exhibition showcases to hear the sound of the instruments on display. Rating 4/5 because of these headphones, some were broken, so it was not possible to listen to all samples. It is still recommended to visit to all lovers of music and anthropology.

  • What a special place to see and hear the musical instruments of the Greek people. Three floors of engrossing specimens and descriptions. The instrument shop has limited hours, but the shopkeeper is incredibly helpful.
  • Small museum with traditional folk music instruments. But what an intresting surprise. Well presented and to the point. Free enterance and easy to find. Worth a visit. Don't miss the audio samples with traditional music from various greek regions
  • This museum is a real gem. We couldn't believe that the entrance was free! Beautifully presented. You can listen to samples from different instruments, watch videos and see some of the most beautifully crafted instruments you ever encounter. Don't miss it!
  • Nice displays and an interesting look into the historical instruments of Greece. Especially liked being able to listen to them. Not a big museum but 30 minutes well spent
  • Cute little museum with instruments and melodies from all over Greece. Free admission.

Where to stay in Athens

If you come to Athens for its ancient history, stay in Plaka, a lively neighborhood located within walking distance of the city's major archaeological sites. Although relatively expensive, hotels in this part of town offer spacious rooms, private swimming pools, and rooftop cocktail bars. For less expensive but equally comfortable lodgings, consider boutique hotels and family-run inns in the quiet residential neighborhoods just a short drive south of Plaka. Good rooms fill up early in the season, so plan ahead and book in advance.
