  • Located in a beautiful neoclassical building. On his site you will see many musical instruments that exist or existed in Greece. For music lovers is that you must visit. In the Museum Shop you can find different SI-di with traditional songs of our land.

  • This museum was designed by an ethnomusicologist Greek who brought together a very comprehensive collection of instruments, films and photographs that illustrate the instrumental practices, rites and festivals of the traditional Greece (not the one who listens to British music and puts her children to the American school). The Museum was renovated and depends on the national museums. Helmets are placed near each window to hear comments and the corresponding music. This structure is completed by screens that broadcast movies of good quality. Instruments are grouped according to the organological categories defined by the German musicologist Sachs: membranophones, idiophones, aerophones and chordophones. It's a little austere but effective to distinguish the instruments between them and understand their pedigrees. The Museum is free, check opening hours before you get there.

  • Nice and interesting Museum. 3 rooms dedicated to the aerophones and idiophones strings. Some songs to listen to each window. If you are in the neighborhood a little detour that's worth.
