  • The Cathedral is located in the heart of Plaka, in a square surrounded by nice restaurants and cafés. Has beautiful paintings and a beautiful altar. It's worth it!

  • This is a strange little church that is never open. I would love to go inside. It is a beautiful building in a very touristy area.
  • This church was a very nice random find while strolling through the small streets of the area. It really is beautiful.
  • This little Greek Orthodox church is one of the oldest churches in Athens, built around AD 1050. It's located close to Emau St and Plaka and within view of the Acropolis. Inside are some beautiful murals and icons. It's free to the public and definitely worth the few minutes it takes to walk thru it.
  • This church is so old that its foundations lie well beneath the modern athenian surface.
  • Went in here to have a look around and light a candle. After making a donation the woman looking after the church took out my and my uncles candles, blew them out, threw them in a bucket, would never visit here again, by far our worst experience of the Greek people
  • Typical Athens street view, both old and new seamless together.
