  • An impressive Museum both externally and internally. On the ground floor and the mezzanine there are collections of relics, weapons and objects from the second world war, the war of Korea? and the war of Cyprus. On the first floor you can see the martial and military history of Greece from the prehistoric era until the second world war; there is also a large library, photo archive with thousands of photos from the history of the Hellenic armed forces. The balconies and outside the building there is an exhibition of aircraft and mobile cannons. The Museum is located on the Avenue and Vassilissis Sofias Rozari Street. Hours of operation 09-14:00 Tuesday through Saturday are worth the visit

  • Unfortunately I can not give different grades are bad. I'm probably right in the target audience, I am interested in history and conflict and likes to go to museums. But the pedagogy is type from the 1800 's, no modern think it not. Plus to it, you'll see a lot of original material related to the various wars, less to things just hang on the walls and stands in booths without explanation. Quite a bit of Greek, and even less in English. It is assumed already to the fundamentals of all wars that Greece has been involved in. (anyway my schooling focused however, hardly at Greek history ...) A couple of simple movies, no other educational technology. And as I said, not even any background or explanation in the text. Where there were English subtitles, it became very clear that the Museum adopted a patriotic stance, it was great effort by the heroic Greek warriors against the lede fi, not least the perfidious Turks during the Cyprus crisis.

  • Most older Greek museums are pretty terrible and you would expect this to be no exception. But it is! Though not hitech or interactive in the modern sense it will pleasantly surprise you with the breadth and importance of the exhibits as well as the variety of ways it gets people of all ages involved. My kids had a blast and I wanted to stay longer to check more stuff out. Also the planes outside are a pleasant diversion for a break. Thoroughly recommended. Not much nationalist crap, more than enough hard historical facts and details to make it worth it. Pretty sure you will learn a lot of things you couldn't imagine where in here.
  • Found the museum a bit underwhelming, especially for someone who doesn't take great interest in military (I have been to military-related museums that did impress and interest me, though). Also, lots of the bigger information plates are in Greek only. Anyway, free admission for students and 4EUR for adults is definitely fine. Lots of small exhibits and some bigger machinery outside.
  • Noce and well organized. Good experience with kids
  • Super weapons collection, some neat jets outdoors and a good academic collection on the top floor. If your not au fait with your modern Greek history some rooms are a bit difficult
  • Great museum. Well organized by time frames from oldest to newest events.
