  • The Academy of Athens is one of the most beautiful neoclassical Buildings ever seen. Immaculately maintained, seems restored yesterday, gilded stuccos, statues, marbles, a marvel, is illuminated by sunlight (all that gold shimmering is wonderful) and from artificial lights at night, it's a show! There you will pass anyway before probably because not too far away from Syntagma Square. The Palace can be visited inside, from Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 15.00 I think you will see that the majestic great Hall, richly painted and deorata. Let us a ride!

  • Very nice building and part of an ensemble consisting of just Academy, University and national library. Quasi in the vicinity of the Parliament. So worth a detour for a few photo opportunities. Curiously, can be found the only statue of Athena - the namesake of Athens around the city here. And this is also rather a marginal figure in addition to Apollo, Socrates and Plato.

  • An architectural ensemble composed by the Academy, the University and the library of Athens, next to the other, with typical construction of the monuments of the city. Lots of columns. Worth stopping by and even better if you can enter.

  • What a beauty, and a wonderful example of Neo Classical design. Go inside and look into the main meeting room. Outside columns has statues of Athena and Apollo. At the bottom of the steps are Plato on the Left and Socrates on the right. Plato built his first school on a plot of land called The Academy, which is why all higher learning schools are called The Academy all over the world.
  • Cool architecture after the fashion of the Parthenon, but all in one piece (of course).
  • Amazing neoclassical architecture. An Athens must-see.
  • Amazing building inspired by the ancient greek architecture.
  • Nice building, I have only saw the outside..
