Built on the side of hills sloping down to a beach along the Aegean Sea, Assos features traditional stucco houses and narrow streets that are populated by only 100 permanent inhabitants. Some of the locals operate small taverns, offering hearty meals with views over the sea. The walk up to the Venetian castle ruins rewards you with the best view in the village and is accompanied by the scent of olive trees. With our custom trip planner, Assos attractions like Assos can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

The road to Assos is curvy but in good condition. The Assos Castle isn't that amazing (more like an abandoned ruin of what was one day the actual castle), but the view you have when you get to the top of the mountain where the castle is located is priceless!
Probably the most picturesque town in the world! Almost impossible to point a camera and not get a superb photo! It's a small Greek harbour with four or five restaurants and an amazing backdrop of a ruined castle on the hill. Once the capital of Kefalonia
Nicest bay around
old pitoresque village !!!
Loredana veronicoShould be worth the trip. The road is really beautiful but equally complicated x arrive, full of twists and high risk of rock falls. From argostoli takes about 75 minutes. Beware the signs are very easy to understand and not x, which often placed at random. Once you take the path uphill walk to the Castle, the view is unique. Preferred path "off road" sneakers no flip flop.show original
