  • From the most beautiful of the island that is worth seeing. The picturesque houses and the beach is a wonderful image.

  • On the 4th day of my visit to Kefalonia I had the longest ride of my program, the North of the island, planned. The previous day I had done and was it easy some near Lassi, where I'm staying, continued. I had such a 120 km return trip to Fiskardo ahead I had calculated, along Myrtos Beach and Assos. Myrtos Beach I have already described. I was early, around half 9, on path gone and after about an hour on the scooter along the coast at Myrtos Beach arrived and after an early lunch in Drakata. There it turned out that the old road along the coast to Assos by an earthquake a few years ago in the ravine was deposited. I had to go through the mountains over 30 km detour. A hiccup, but well, it's vacation, so we keep the spirits and the surrounding area is beautiful. Far beyond Assos you come then again on the coastal road and you need something back. At one point comes Assos in sight. Beautiful location, especially the castle is also very strategic, like St George Castle. Haarspeldend down and sight on Assos remains everywhere. Just in front of the picturesque village of you can left or right. I chose left. Advantage of a scooter is that you can stop, times and parking. In Assos was at that time enough place. I parked in the Center at the small beach. I first walked around to anywhere what even above the village of, what a wonderful perspective, have tea somewhere in the Harbour and got drunk on the road, before I would go to Fiskardo, in my book reading on a bench at the beach. Pure enjoyment of the rest, the children playing on the beach, the boats bobbing in the water, the view of the Castle, of the flying birds and of course of the two chapters from my book. Against this overall peace and salvation, the pills for my very high blood pressure far.

  • This small village on the northwest coast of the island is a real gem. in the middle of August it was not busy, perhaps because of the road deviation which reduced the ease of access: you'll get there anyway but with a much longer than in previous years. Do not miss the walk to the Castle, which, although difficult, offers views and spectacular sunsets.

  • Lovely small town - it has its own unique charm. Road to get there is very diverse so be careful. Beside walking 🚶 through the streets, or eating & drinking - there's really nothing else to do. 😴
  • This restaurant is in a little town, they have good food. Their service is very slow. They have good hums, I dont know if they take reservations, but if you want a table with a better view you may have to wait for a bit.
  • Picture post card of a village. Great taverna right on the waters edge over looking the harbour with the old fort up on the hill perfect photo opportunities with a cold drink in hand. The find a spot on the shingle beach and swim off lunch. Simply the most picturesque village in all of the island
  • Magic place. Amasing view. Very quiet to enjoy what nature offer to us. Also a place with good food with local wine. Perfect!
  • Good place to go for a historical tour, to synbathe, to eat, to drink. Assos has got something for everyone. Rocky beach, clean water.
