  • On the way to Sfakii (Imbros Gorge, Frangokastello, Hora Sfakion), we pass the Askifou plain. Take the road and turn to the village to visit the Museum of Mr Hatzidakis. It will take a maximum of 1/2-1 an hour of time. After the collection of the very friendly owner and daughter of the late himself. The harvest began, his father, who saw World War II on the island of Crete, the grandfather of the owner, he fought as a partisan. A lot of interesting artifacts, including heavy weapons, parts of aircraft, etc., from those times (I suspect that part of it is still running). The owner offers crayfish, and finally with gift box with money asks if you enjoyed it;-). It is worth something to throw, after the collection takes a chunk of cottages and is well maintained. With similar objects I recommend on Crete even military Museum (and carried out by Armies), in Chromonastiri near Rethymnon.

  • The Museum's tavarast are compiled from Crete to the Mainland from the times of World War I and II. The museum tour was part of the presentation, which was made to his credit the owner's teenage daughter. Optional payment was not quite as optional as was given to understand, but in 12 rounds of 30 euros is not a bad price.

  • We did not expect to discover this magnificent collection of weapons, motorcycle and objects from all sides of the war during the occupation period in this small village lost in the mountains. A unique, rich, varied and rare collection. Hats off to this veteran collector who is even beyond those of some museums renowned. Don't miss if you go by the or if you enjoy this type of collection.
