  • Especially to do the walk of 2 hours round trip between the monasteries of Prodromou (accessible by road from Stemnitsa) and Philosophou monks offer coffee and fresh water!

  • We followed the advice of our host on the course in the Lousios Gorge. We parked our car near the monastery Prodromou (beautiful monastery built into the rock) and went in the direction of the monastery of the philosopher. There, a religious welcomes you with a glass of water and a Turkish delight and explain the history of the site. Then we got back on our steps down to ancient Gortys and the medieval bridge. We loved this hike of 5 hours in the middle of nature (and its surprising meetings) and along the river. It takes good shoes and water in summer. Start the hike in the morning will allow you to be alone in places. We had a plan but did not use. Just read the signs along the trail.

  • Despite the walk that we did in October was very warm on the go. We left at the Open Air Water Power Museum, via a PAM marked and pleasant hiking trail. You do have enough time, and remember that the monasteries not all day long. A must for those who want to combine nature and culture!
