  • Not easily described with words ... Well worth the first visit each visitor of the island!! The view from the monastery is unique, amazing and breathtaking (up to Astypalea and Anafi). Of course the skalopatakia of ascent until you arrive, but you will be reimbursed in full. Avoid the summer midday hours for your visit.

  • The monastery holds an over 1000-year-old icon that shows the visitors who took the somewhat strenuous ascent to, as the greatest treasure. Formerly one of the most important monasteries of Greece hosts still 3 monks and a few lay people, which strengthen the stranger after the visit to the Church with candy, a liqueur and - sometimes with a coffee Eleniko. If you like, can absorb a long hike on a narrow mule track behind the monastery, he will never forget.
