  • About 14 km from the main road leading from Patitiri to Steni Vala. In the first part of the route, you can enjoy a beautiful view from the top on the island of Peristera. In the second only domestic goats and wild ones. Although it is not far and the road is paved, it takes at least 20 minutes by car given the tortuositá of course, the many potholes and asphalt parts precipitated together with the mountain (be very careful if you are scooter without drive in the dark because it becomes even more dangerous in the complete absence of lighting). At the end of the path there is a Bay with a Marina, two houses, two dogs, 4 cats, a small beach with 8 plastic umbrellas and lounges very dilapidated and a pickup truck with a kindly old man who, it is said, prepare a yummy Octopus (I haven't had the pleasure of tasting it since it was finished). In conclusion: If you want to come to Gerakas, consider if it's worth seeing the long route, the road is not perfect and a beach not among the best on the island. Might be a good place to get away from the tourists. Certainly in September is only desolation.

  • We came across this beach in September during a stay in ALONNISOS, directed by a person who had already visited. The Pebble Beach is nice, semi equipped kitchen, and you can get there by a road beautiful in nature and with lovely views. Absolutely recommend lunching in improvised (a van and four or five tables under a gazebo), where a nice gentleman and his wife serve local dishes, but especially fresh fish, accompanied by beer or wine from their own production. The only drawback ... The bathroom is "everywhere", or anywhere!
