  • It is not easy to get to, I shot a lot but in the end the Navigator helped me. Been there several times over many years, up to 5 years ago there were only locals now is well known and is very busy (in August at least). To reach it, there are a series of hairpin bends very accentuated, without protection and considerable incline, best avoided if you're afraid or the tank almost empty or you are dry. Access is not easy, the tail is pretty rough and donot go there with children (although I've had several), let me start by saying that there is no control, no protection and it's easy to get hurt. Bad idea go with flip flops or slippers. The beach is a mixture of rocks and pebbles and sand on the shore. On the sides you can use the reefs for diving but again be careful because it's easy to get hurt. There are no facilities of any kind so bring water! Unfortunately now is well known and it's a little dirty, several speed boats coming and going and being a long throat tends to get dirty so the water has always a reflection (type soap bubble, typical of the residues left by motorboat) but it's always very nice to take a ride with the mask to the open sea. In July it is not very crowded (except weekends). Eye that if the sea is rough the beach is shortened and not much to look at in the morning also tends to be in the shade and won't have the same magic. All in all a great beach if it wasn't too crowded and difficult (even dangerous) to get to.

  • Perhaps the most "original" beach in Crete! Overcrowded most of the size, however worth the inconvenience of 10-15 minutes to descend and ascend. Attention to the steep path, best sports wear why skid flip flops!

  • This was such a fantastic beach that we found for an afternoon in Chania. You want to go on the earlier side since as the sun sets and will make the beach shady. The walk down to the beach is a bit di...  more »
