Agios Prokopios Beach, Agios Prokopios

4.3
#1 of 43 in Outdoors in Naxos
Visit a Mediterranean beach on the Grecian coast at Agios Prokopios Beach, in an area that was once a port for Turkish traders. A bus from Chora transports you beachside where shops, restaurants, and sand give you everything a Grecian vacation is known for. One of the trader's more unfortunate vessels shipwrecked near one end of the beach. The attraction is named for Agios Prokopios Church, visible from the beach. • Really top beach. Crystal clear waters, extensive and Sandy. But it is the most developed and busy. Gathers always too crowded. If you don't mind to besiege you when you are in water or lying on the beach, don't you think. If not, Naxos is full of great beaches!

Where to stay in Naxos

As with most island destinations, rooms in Naxos tend to cost more the closer you get to the sea. Beach hotels and seaside apartments come at a steep price, but they offer spacious rooms and modern amenities just minutes from the island's finest beaches. Stay in Naxos Town for quick access to the best shopping and dining options, or choose one of the island's smaller settlements if you prefer a quieter base. Village inns provide simply furnished rooms and no frills, but they also charge less than the resort hotels.
