  • I really like this place. The ancient city, here an amazing calmness and peacefulness. Millennial olive amazing shapes. The ruins of little interest to me, so I don't care so much about them that is not the case, and in the atmosphere of the place. Above the slopes where not already the Museum and cars next to the parking lot, filled with olive trees. This place was also a city. We walked in this garden, in October there is quiet, there is no one. In ancient built their city. But tickets have become twice as expensive. Three euros, as last year, it would be more accurate.

  • IMHO but a full divorce! See, in principle, not what! Fenced Temple and sensitive dwarf amphitheatre (I'm probably wrong purpose of this structure but exactly the impression)! Rest grid! fences fences and even 6 euros with nose? Forgive the surcharge and toilet .... killed! To question to employees is that everything? No no go across there more ruins! Aga AGA follows in anticipation and that? On large square pieces of something nabrosano, more like the rubble of antiquity and then everything for mesh fences: (((((one was fun, jumping on rocky trails in the Shales and watch your step so as not to navernutsja:)))) do not recommend rendered uniquely! Well, unless in transit sit in the shade kafjeshki ticketing have:))) photos are prilogaju it is the second part of the excursion on ruins (across the street)

  • The site is interesting but there is more to see through the olive groves over the road. It proved difficult to find everything there. Unfortunately there were no guides - why? This is an important si...  more »

  • The rooms are often easier than in the photos. The swimming pool is small and stinks of chlorine. My half-board dinner was mostly warm not hot, because I ate only salads. But the room worked out well and also a light bulb was replaced I within a 1/4 h. When I wanted to change rooms because of the Küftungsfensters in the bathroom I have may change the next day. If a room without bunk beds but otherwise as simple as in a youth hostel in Germany

  • The only good thing to say about this hotel is the staff. Everything else was very mediocre and disappointing: very noisy, because right on the main road, also music from the hotel's bar, the rooms were dirty, they were not cleaned, also the bathroom not. The food was a disaster! The coffee undrinkable, canned food, hardly seasoned, hardly fresh...

  • We were in June 2016 at Hotel Gortyna. The room we had booked with sea view and were very happy in the new building. The rooms were a about the other day cleaned and you get fresh towels every 2 days (as well as bed linen also). The breakfast was very Spartan for us (1 variety cheese, 1 type sausage, alternating fresh tomatoes or orange slices, 3 varieties of Müsli, yoghurt, jam and honey, cakes and bread.) This includes a juice machine and coffee machine) sounds a lot, but is simple after a few days. The dinner, however, is very good! Hot and cold buffet with very good food! The staff was really friendly and helpful! It should be remembered that the hotelier with package holidays receives only €7,50 per person/day, the Agency collected the rest! Thus he must economize and the breakfast was the only shortcoming! The rooms are large and decorated in Spartan (just Mediterranean)! But CLEAN! The pool is small but fine! The highway where the hotel is located, is not so disturbing, because the balcony door insulates well! One should also clearly be the sewer pipes are not so in Crete such as ours. Hot, throw toilet paper in the provided paper bucket. This is so everywhere, no matter whether 5 * hotel or tavern etc. Hotel Gortyna also has a nice pool bar with music and good drinks! The rooms are soundproof so that we have heard nothing from the neighbors. Shortcoming: TV program on german... 4 channel, if you want to look in the evening but a little... RTL, EUROSPORT AND RTL2. Ride again, book directly at the hotel, as it is for HP only ca.max. 13 Euro per person. I advise everyone of all inclusive! There are so nice, cheap and above all tasty tavernas in the area! A rental car (we recommend the on the other hand yellow TRAIN) is already necessary, since Skaletta has not much to offer. We can highly recommend also Rainbow's Tavern across from the hotel! ONLY super sandy beaches are towards Chania, behind Rethymno! Thank you for the great holiday hotel Gortyna! We will be back!
