  • Fantastic experience on this hot sweaty Weds. Busier than usual but you cannot get any closer to this Busy African outdoors Market. Each corner brings you a surprise. Friendly locals. No hassle from vendors but a warm welcome added their Ghanaian smile. Be prepared to come with good walking shoes.
  • This is just like the popular Balogun market in Lagos Nigeria. You can get almost any product you need from the market at different sections. Going there as a tourist, got a lot of beautiful African price of materials as well as products like bangles, earrings, bags etc that had the prints. They have areas that sell foodstuffs, provisions, etc. You better try to wear flat shoes when you go there as the journey is long. Stay vigilant because you might miss your way going back the way you came. Also you may need a hat or shades as it was really hot when I visited. You also need to stay hydrated
  • Big market with wide range of products to choose from colourful scenes and a large human traffic makes the market a good place to visit trust me head potters makes movement of goods an easy thing one head potter can carry up to the weight of a car a lot of amusement
  • Makola Market is a vibrant, busy market in Accra where you will find pretty much anything you'll ever want. The prices are always lower than you'll find in your local shops since most of the shops get their supplies there at wholesale prices. The vendors there get their supplied straight from the source / manufacturer. It's advisable to go with someone familiar with the place if you're a tourist or newly residing in Accra because it's a big area and they'll know where to find the things you're after.
  • If you're ever in Accra, Makola market is a must see... if you're up for it that is. It's a huge open market for everything and anything. It's best to visit in the early hours of the morning and absolutely avoid during peak hours (after 12pm basically), especially if you're driving or in a metered taxi. Traffic within these hours is a standstill beyond regrettable mess.
