Neumünster, Wurzburg

Church
The narrow pink facade of Neumünster gives way to Baroque beauty behind its heavy doors. This 18th-century masterpiece is impressive yet subdued, featuring a Romanesque exterior offset by curved Baroque details and intricate carvings and statuettes. Inside, the whitewashed walls starkly contrast with the gold accents and colorful murals and altarpieces. Take time to look up and admire the delicate architecture of the high, arched ceilings. Tour at your leisure but avoid service times, as no entry is permitted then. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Neumünster by using our Wurzburg vacation planner.

  • I like the city.
  • A beautiful church. You can visit it from the inside, to admire the beautiful frescoes and altar.

  • In the beautiful and vast underground Crypt cherishes the sarcophagus of St. Kilian, one of the three martyrs who have evangelized Wurzburg. The Church was originally taken but the West choir was replaced by the current facade. Don't miss, on the opposite side of the Cathedral, the little piece of wonderful original cloister, with capitals and columns absolutely amazing!
