Market Square, Wurzburg

(4.1/5 based on 340 reviews on the web)
Wurzburg's popular Market Square offers a wide selection of traditional goods in a historic outdoor setting. The area is dominated by the Gothic Marienkapelle Church on one side and the Baroque Falkenhaus on the other. (The latter houses the tourist information office.) You'll find fruits, flowers, cheeses, meats, candies, and numerous other artisanal goods. Throughout the year, the site hosts numerous local festivals, such as the famous Christmas Market every December and the wine festival in late spring, where more than 100 local wines are paired with international cuisine for a 12-day celebration. A visit to Market Square represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Wurzburg vacation planner to plot your vacation.

  • The Christmas Market is always fun, plenty of food and drinks and many local arts and crafts to be bought. The Market is also fun during other months !  more »
  • Worth noting that this building next to St. Mary's Chapel was completely destroyed and was again original rekontrusiert after photo templates. Is a real eye-catcher on the edge of the otherwise so successful market place at least the building there as regards. The so-called upper market is a part of the pedestrian zone and only walking distance. Definitely worth a photo!
