Marienburg Fortress, now a museum, served as the home of the prince-bishops for nearly five centuries. You can explore the first floor and discover fine furniture, tapestries, paintings, a treasury, and a vestment chamber. The second floor displays tell the history of the structure and the town. Die Festung ist wirklich sehr beeindruckend. Eine Innenbesichtigung haben wir nicht gemacht, da Mittelalterfest war, war jedoch auch von außen gesehen schon ein Highlight.The fortress is really very impressive. We have not made a visit to inner, medieval festival, already a highlight was seen but also from the outside.show original
Walked up here just for the views which were nice at sunset. The fortress itself is nothing spectacular but if you have extra time in Wurzburg, it's a nice little hike up from town.
