  • Here, the Saxony-Anhalt lie Weimar noble families until the beginning of the 20th century. It is extremely simple and very elaborate coffins in the crypt beneath a classical "Hermitage". Goethe and a probably empty (both plain) coffin Schiller are as well there laid out. And of course Maria Pawlowna... is a key figure of Weimar, which buried in Russian soil under "their" Russian Orthodox Church. Impressive... Exit towards Rudolstadt, parked in the cemetery parking lot, and you walk there... It's worth. Audio guide in the Royal crypt.

  • They have bunny squirrels! #1 must see! Weimar is the best
  • Interesting place with Goethe's and Schiller's coffina and others from the ruling family of Weimar.
  • Very interesting historical cemetery in the 1820s in the neoclassical style built tomb of the ducal family of Saxe-Weimar and Eisenach and the final resting place of the classical poet personalities Goethe (and Schiller). the Russian Orthodox Funeral Chapel of the Duchess Maria Pawlowna and her husband Duke Carl Friedrich was built in 1862. The coffin of Schiller's in the vaults of the tomb is empty.
