  • It is a crypt in a old cemetery, attached is a Eastern Orthodox Church. Schiller was supposed to be kept here. A great place for history lovers, people who like old cemeteries or Eastern Orthodox Chur...  more »
  • I cannot understand the glowing reviews here. The cemetery might be pretty enough in a dilapidated way, but the 'Gruft' is just ridiculous, and let me tell you why: Advertised as 'the tombs of Goethe ...  more »

  • They have bunny squirrels! #1 must see! Weimar is the best
  • Interesting place with Goethe's and Schiller's coffina and others from the ruling family of Weimar.
  • To see there is the tomb of Goethe and Schiller. There is also a monument griggio forgotten by the German authorities made by an artist of the Bauhaus. You have to try because it is not written anywhere. I knew why my guide said.

  • You should probably look. The cemetery and the Tomb are objectively clear systems and buildings. Partly, there are interesting anecdotes, I want to take here does not anticipate, therefore worth a ' audio guide'. Front of Goethe's and Schiller's Tomb something, decide what must be every man for himself. Chapel of the Church behind the crypt is worth a look.

  • Schiller's coffin is empty though, but nevertheless, it is a sublime moment at least prior to Goethe's bones to stand. "You find Schiller" on the St. James churchyard.
