Leuchtturm Warnemunde, Warnemunde
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Yes, you can actually climb Leuchtturm Warnemunde, a historic lighthouse that has been in service since 1898. A granite, spiral staircase leads to the top of the 36.9 m (121 ft) tall lighthouse for views of beach, harbor, and village. Every year on New Year's, a large laser show called Lighthouse in Flames attracts nearly 10,000 people. Satire thomasYes, it's just "only" a lighthouse but he is the beach, the port a symbol of Warnemünde with fantastic views over this tranquil place and if you're lucky the underlying Warnemünde cruise ships. Via a narrow spiral staircase, up's what requires some skill at "Oncoming traffic". :-) Admission for families (we were four of us) is very moderate 4,-€ with electoral card even just 3,-€. For that alone it's worth already. The staff were very friendly. So we can only recommend it.show original
Kai SchindlerWarnemünde is always worth a visit. The old harbour with its promenade and the many old excursion boat, are very centrally located. Not to mention, the beautiful lighthouse.show original
