  • This is not the classic German Castle would imagine to find because it is now home to some local academics, public access is in the low-lying areas and continually teeming with students and tourists. You can get there by two roads, both very steep and strenuous but as you climb you can admire a fantastic view over the rooftops of the city and the River on the other side. I especially appreciated the subways and the inner courtyard with the statue of Augustus.

  • The ancient castle of the city of Tübingen University now. Inside a good Archaeological Museum and a room where you are shown the research done in 1800 by a student of 25 years who discovered nuclein. From here we developed all the research on DNA. But that steep hill to get there!

  • The Schloss Hohentübingen is centrally located in the city of Tübingen on a mountain spur. It was built in the 11th century, extended in the 16th century and represents a mixture of medieval castle, modern Castle and fortress and Museum in its present form. First to 1037 construction.

  • The castle itself is nice, but not remarkable as castles go. What I like most is that it's open, accessible, and integrated into the city better than many other I've visited. It's easy to wander in and check it out without having to make a trip out of it.
  • Loved it, the view of the city below alone is enough for you to visit this place.
  • I am trying to visit and see a wooden carving artefact from New Zealand which was presented to Joseph Banks during Captain Cooks visit to New Zealand in 1769. The artefact was presented by our tribal queen Hinematioro to Mr Banks during this visit. Information provided is, the wooden artefact being housed in the Tubingen Museum of ethnology, Germany. Would this be the location of the artefact? Thanks and regards
