  • every German city or almost has its museum dedicated to its history through its celebrities but also the daily life and the history of its inhabitants: trier is no exception to the rule and proposes a journey well staged and interesting

  • Great museum
  • I'm working there
  • The Trier City Museum had, which began in the rooms of an old monastery, and now has a large modern and air conditioned cultivation, impressed by the affectionate presentation of local exhibits from the last three centuries. A focus is on paintings and crafted objects. There is a beautiful (and slightly scary-looking) textile Cabinet and a fantastic collection of ivory carvings. To go, something to eat, you must leave the Museum, but you again kindly let us with our morning purchased tickets after a lunch break. The mood of the supervisory people ranged from something harsh about shy and very friendly. Although the Museum is not huge, there is so much to discover that a day is not enough. There are often special exhibitions, which every time very attractive designs and are always worth a visit.

  • Museum of the city of Trier, Germany. The City Museum Simeonstift in Trier shows art and cultural treasures from the middle ages to the 21st century. The collection is located in the building of the Collegiate Church of San Simeon, which originates from the 11th century and is directly adjacent to the Porta Nigra. Also worthy of mention is the building itself, which has one of the oldest and rarely preserved double-decker listers.

  • I was here on the occasion of the exhibition "the myth of NERO IN art". Worth watching, perfect presentation, imaginative design, and what is also important in midsummer, pleasantly air-conditioned. Very friendly staff.

Where to stay in Trier

Trier offers a small selection of places to stay within the city. A youth hostel and a camper parking equipped with showers and toilet but no power caters to the budget travelers visiting the city. For more comfort, look for hotels in the Olewig area or Porta Nigra. Several four-star hotels provide even more luxury at relatively affortable price.
