  • The Basilica of Matthias in Trier belongs to the top - sightseeing - addresses of the city. Here in this Basilica, in the South of the city, the Apostle Matthias is buried. In addition, the Basilica is simply beautiful to visit. Take some time, it will pay off. Your Leckermäulchen

  • He must walk a few hundred meters to the South of the city to find this impressive pilgrimage church. The outside is certainly more impressive than the Interior but also worth a look for the sarcophagi of the saints and relics of St. Matthew. Attention, as it is a place of pilgrimage, the masses are quite numerous and not always accessible inside for visits.

  • Though it is not in the Centre of the Abbey, I still recommend the visit (of course, if these kinds of attractions of interest to you). We were in the car, so we get here was not, there is a possibility to Park, from public transport near the RAILWAY station of Trier Süd and bus stop (bus number 3 stops and is called "St. Matthias"). We are lucky-people almost never happened. The Abbey is very beautiful, it is one of those cases where multiple adjustment amounted to ultimately beautiful and unique image. The entire ensemble and the Church itself-all fine. Sculptures and icons-stunning, that properly all consider it took no less than an hour, or more. I'm not very appreciated cemetery, but I'm not a fan of such attractions. Note-during worship (existing Abbey) tourists have nothing to do there.
