  • The St. Gangolfkirche located close to the main market - in Trier is not far away from the other attractions - is all around of houses included, therefore, their input is not easy to find. Due to their construction it is reassuring and cm leads the visitor to think. Certainly that is true if you can participate in an hour of worship. It offers a resting pole in the bustling city.

  • The Church is somewhat tucked away and through a small alley to the entrance. There were a few tourists and you could visit the Church alone. Is absolutely recommended.

  • The St. Gangolf church is an almost hidden gem just off the Hauptmarkt ... in fact its tower is part of the spectacular view that is the town square. Just look for the ornate gate and enter to find th...  more »

  • I was particularly drawn to the church's Gothic features and color scheme rivaling that of an apricot. As if to beckon me welcome, a magnolia was blossoming in the chilly spring weather, its petals scattering across the wind with each breeze. it was truly magical. I appreciated visiting the Church of St Gangolf was its relatively lack of visitors. It was not a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and with it partially blocked by surrounding buildings despite its tower sticking out, made it not very obvious as a visitor's spot. I was fortunate that I was lured in by the baroque portal that led me to it, otherwise I would be as ignorant as the next traveler. Definitely a place which I recommend highly to those who prefer something slightly off the beaten path.
  • The market and the citizens of St. Gangolf church lies hidden behind the houses on the square of the market of Trier (Treves). Once you have found the entry, the Church perfectly molds itself to the houses market. The start of the construction for the church you can see her today is located at the beginning of the 15th century. Four towers to floor were built a century earlier. Inside the Church, the eye is particularly attracted by the composition of flamboyant Gothic colors and the altarpiece in the former St. Michael altar stone. Very quiet place that invites to meditation. Beautiful way of the cross in ceramics in the entry...
