  • In 1483 the Steipe was ready after a construction period of 50 years. It was used as representation House for the City Council and the notables. In 1944 the building was destroyed and rebuilt in 1970. There is now a café and a restaurant downstairs and the upper floors are partly used by the toy museum

  • It is the ancient city of Trier hotel and it is also the building up from the main square of the city. The mayors had it built to demonstrate their power and do shading to the ecclesiastical power represented by the Cathedral. There is a very good restaurant in the base and it is possible to access the basement of the building to admire its vaults!

  • This remarkable building, which is at an angle on the Marktplatz date of the 15 th century. It housed the Rathaus (City Hall). On the ground floor sound can have a drink with a nice view of this emblematic place of Trier.

  • I had a good Fitness steak. Happy so far!
  • We come here from time to time and have had only good experiences.
  • Cappuccino with whipped cream, was just black coffee with cream on the side. Rude waitress was adamant that this is the way cappuccino is made. Apfelstrudel was average at best. Anything positive: I guess location is good. In short: avoid!
  • The young dark haired gay waiter was very arrogant. I told him to bring us the French menu as it was written they have one on the entrance panel. He ignored that they had this translated menu and answered unpolitely 'Whaaaaat". Hey man we didn't grow together and we are not friends so don't be familiar with people you serve !! . Correct answer is : "Sorry sir ?"; "Yes sir"; in a well-educated way !! If you don't like your job sh**ty then change or study !! That's what you are paid for : the sens of service !! Not a good waiter at all, he forgot to ask us about our beverages. Very bad service and behaviour !! No tips of course. Apart that the food was very good !!
  • Great and fresh cakes everyday. Unfortunately bad coffee and rude service.

Where to stay in Trier

Trier offers a small selection of places to stay within the city. A youth hostel and a camper parking equipped with showers and toilet but no power caters to the budget travelers visiting the city. For more comfort, look for hotels in the Olewig area or Porta Nigra. Several four-star hotels provide even more luxury at relatively affortable price.
