  • Definitely a spectacular stop, if you stay in the region. With great attention to detail, built, restored, and receive. Interesting for us urbanites to experience how village life at the time presented itself. Also the rustic tavern is worth a visit.

  • Even if it is not a real village, it has but the feeling that it might be one. There are craftsmen - and farmhouses, sheds, a brewery, a school, a store, a mill etc. The houses come from Bavaria, Bohemia, Austria, and were again fine neatly assembled and equipped with typical furniture and machines. You feel set back last time just in one. Everywhere is written, where the House once stood, there lived, when the building in the Museum was, etc. Everyone should have visited as a museum.

  • This is NOT Colonial Williamsburg, Sturbridge Village, or Plymouth Plantation. This collection represents the buildings of the poorer people in Bavaria. There are few presentations. There are few sign...  more »

  • The most boring local history place I've ever been to. At least in spring there is no activities, only dreary exposition of numerous houses. No fun at all.
  • The museum village Bavarian Forest makes a somewhat Loveless impression on me: it has gathered lots of old buildings and now must close to densely together sitting in a confined space. Many buildings are also in bald and usually only in the ground floor, where the cattle stuff was kept and still the one or the other bare room. There are some collection of spaces with exhibition, but overall is simply not a "life" in this "wood collection". To the Loveless cubes together the building space, so that one feels in the big town: it has become a MuseumsDORF just unfortunately, unfortunately verily. How to make it really neat, "Booty Bayern" show all people with their perfect FreiLANDmuseum in Bad Windsheim. Given this through ball to understand three star for this museum village as a very polite gesture, to appreciate the good intentions are.

  • Interesting old building. But too much together built. We did a tour, which was ca. 1, 1 / 2 hour. Much useful information was given us. Unfortunately, many parts of the village were cordoned off so that we could see not all houses

  • Very diverse, all buildings are arranged in a nice area, good information panels

  • Beautiful open air museum with old houses from various periods. Unfortunately we had the whole thing in the fast pass look at there our children (6 months) something most Herum guess were. But all in all worth a visit. I find it perfectly alright 6 euro for adults.
