  • All of the Weissenhof was built in 1927. It represents a turning point in the history of the architecture of the 20th century. Fruit of the collaboration of Le Corbusier, his cousin Pierre Jeanneret and many others, he suffered serious injury under the national socialism and the second world war before knowing years of disuse. A dozen buildings have disappeared, but those who remain are remarkable and perfectly restored, starting with the wonderful villa built by Le Corbusier. On the other hand, the small museum, with its summary records available in German and English only, could be evidence of more teaching. Many must be discouraged and it's a shame, because should be not much to make the visit more enjoyable and accessible to the uninitiated. In the State, the site is remarkable but can confuse visitors that it would be the first contact with Le Corbusier and his contemporaries.

  • “A 1927 house which never dated and still able to inspire” Have read about Le Corbusier house in architecture books many times before and it's great that I could finally visit it during the trip to Stuttgart. The house in fact is one of the work in a village of houses with similar minimalists design by the architects in the same era. To me, the ideas/design of Le corbusier house have certainly had great impacts upon the design of buildings in the past 50 years. This is a must see for people who are into designs/arts etc.
  • n 1927, each from a group of Modern European architects including Walter Gropius, Mies and Le Corbusier designed a town house in Weissenhof Estate ( master plan by Mies) as a exposition in Stuttgart to show their vision and insight of housing for the future in highly industrialised world at that time. Most of the houses are survived from War damage but only the one designed by Le Corbusier is now open to public as a museum and sample unit. It is a must-see for modern architecture lovers.
  • LC's five elements idea in modern architecture is realized on this building.
  • THE PLACE to see for the architecture lovers!
  • Werner Sobek's new exhibition house gives new life to the historic Weissenhof Estate. It's open to the public on Thursday afternoons.
