  • The Stuttgart Rathaus, is the seat of the City Council of the city of Stuttgart, and is located in the great Marktplatz, a large and central square of the city. It is a modern building, in which only highlights on the outside, its large clock tower, because the building itself says little. On a tour of the city centre you can find without loss.

  • At City Hall, there is one of a few circulation - lift system, persons, Germany. Since 1974, no new Paternoster lifts may be taken in West Germany, more in operation. Several individual cabins hanging attached to chains (usually for one or two people per cabin) in permanent circulation operation run in the Paternoster lift. Advantages of Paternoster elevators compared to other lifts are constant without long waiting time availability for both directions (up and down), which allows particularly fast switching between the close-spaced levels, as well as the very high flow rate similar to the an escalator. Adversely the longer journey time between distant exits is why an installation in very high skyscrapers is eliminated due to the lower speed. In busy elevators that stopped at several levels, the journey time relativized is however again. The cargo transport is also prohibited in a PATERNOSTER. Also, the risk of accidents is greater; the entering and exiting the cabins during the trip costs a certain overcoming some users. For persons with disabilities, fall risk; It is almost impossible to use by wheelchair users. Also, the training and boarding similar to when an escalator especially for inexperienced users requires a certain concentration. But also through negligence and reckless action risks. The disembarking shall avoid, when the CAB has clearly passed the floor and climbing out of a left-right Paternoster can be dangerous when the Paternoster is again at this moment. The cabins be implemented at the upper and lower watershed through large Windows in the other elevator shaft. The transport of people by reversing is possible and safe. The getting in and out can be initially difficult. The transport rate is half a meter per second. CAUTION: Use limited. Not quite harmless. Better just watch. Who fail goes out is turned up or down at the change of direction in the cabin on the head. That's why helmets are mandatory.
