Markthalle Stuttgart, Stuttgart
Categories: Gift & Specialty Shops, Shopping
A center for trade and commerce as far back as the 13th century, Stuttgart built its first market hall on this square in 1450--however, Markthalle Stuttgart as you see it today was built in the Art Nouveau style and inaugurated in 1914. Inside the market, you can overwhelm your senses as you pass the stands offering vibrant fresh fruits and vegetables, an aromatic abundance of herbs and spices, flowers, fish, meat, cheese, and more. Local and international items alike make up this market, including many organic and eco-friendly products. Enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants in the hall, or pick out your own items for a picnic. It was a rainy day, so it was really nice being in a market that is indoors. The smells here are amazing. So much variety and specialty shops. You can find amazing things to do with food here.
If it's edible and you can't find it in this market you won't find it anywhere in Stuttgart. A fabulous place to explore all things food and talk with real butchers and cheese mangers etc. 3-4 first r... read more »
Excellent selection of specialty foods from around Europe. Especially good selection of Italian and Spanish items. Expect that most things will be a bit more expensive than the grocery store, but mostly come here for the high quality products that cannot be found in the grocery store.
It's always a fun time to just go there and browse through the selection of international goods. They sell very exotic foods there which makes it fun to explore. However it's also really expensive. Aside the building is beautiful and looks very historic. I can highly recommend going if you are in Stuttgart
Great products from many Latin countries! The quality is high, but the price as well. To check at least for the ambiance it has and for your eyes. Don't go there if you are hungry though, it is too tempting!
One of the neatest finds in Stuttgart. Huge selection of great food and beverages. Made me wish I lived in Stuttgart.
