Markthalle Stuttgart, Stuttgart

4.7
#2 of 10 in Shopping in Stuttgart
A center for trade and commerce as far back as the 13th century, Stuttgart built its first market hall on this square in 1450--however, Markthalle Stuttgart as you see it today was built in the Art Nouveau style and inaugurated in 1914. Inside the market, you can overwhelm your senses as you pass the stands offering vibrant fresh fruits and vegetables, an aromatic abundance of herbs and spices, flowers, fish, meat, cheese, and more. Local and international items alike make up this market, including many organic and eco-friendly products. Enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants in the hall, or pick out your own items for a picnic. There is something for every palate pleasure. Great deals. There a literally "mouth watering". Who wants to enjoy the buzz from above, can be the whole restaurant Prosecco from at the wall with a glass on the floor. Also beautiful Wohnaccesoirs and gifts can be found on the upper floor. The issued "garden furniture" on the upper balcony are worth seeing. You would like to take place and dwell. You have a beautiful view from the balcony.

See old classic building assessment "King's road". Detail lovers, international.! Angebote.Obst, vegetables, fish, meat-sausage-cheese from all over the world, candy, worldwide spices up to the individual MAGGIwürfel. Try opportunities are like celebriert. Intimate, friendly, cuddly. Colorful odors. Everything fresh! Simply beautiful emotions! Three restaurateurs. My "Ständle" Lieblingsentspannungs "di Genaros" (compared to its large sales counter), Bonsaygroßer wine sales booth (South side) with tasting, best wines from "Bella Italia", Megageiler Espresso & co, getostete Italosandwiches, staff: well-kept old school with white shirt and black Fliege.Stilvoll with humor. Second favourite place, restaurant on the first floor north side. Cafe or prosecco at the "reeling" enjoy with a complete view of market activity from a bird's-eye view. Indoor restaurant, always well worth a try visited with a touch of Schickymicki, in any case. Warning, the market hall closes between 17 h and 18 h, depending on the day or time of year. Gastronomy visitable, hard-to-find possibly through special entrance. So, who now can't go? Have fun browsing through the market Hall :-) TS from S

  • Awesome little indoor market. Especially loved the Spanish one had an amazing bocadillo
  • Traditional market place with many booths selling international and local food, wines and other ingredients. Great to just walk around and try a few things. Prices are on the higher side, but expect great quality.
  • Excellent choice for fresh food. Great range of specialities.
  • Great place to buy deli food of both local and international provenience (cheese, prosciutto, sausages, olives, even mexican ingrediences like spices, mole, nopales, chile). Pleasant atmosphere.
  • This a great market for local and regional produce, flowers, etc. It's a must go to place. It's not open every day, so check the schedule.

Where to stay in Stuttgart

Stuttgart's city center offers a number of lodging options near major sites, but consider areas just outside the center for better deals. For example, Stuttgart-West is within walking distance from the center and boasts its fair share of cafes, restaurants, markets, and theaters. Two more areas, Stuttgart-Ost and Stuttgart-Süd, are also centrally located and full of local character.
