  • Johanneskirche, Stuttgart one can hardly imagine a more idyllic location for a church, than the Johanneskirche in Stuttgart has, as it is situated on a peninsula with its chorus kind of flipped out towards the small Feursee, where ducks and swans swim around peacefully. The Church is in neo-Gothic style, designed by the architect Christian Friedrich von Leins, who himself came from Stuttgart. Johanneskirche was badly destroyed during the second world war but largely rebuilt later, however, the original tip on the tower was not renewed, and the amputees tower stands as monument to war. And on the inside it is unfortunately very striking that the original ceiling was not recreated after the war, but there was created a flat ceiling without any kind of decorating, which is a great shame. It could be a beautiful project on the occasion of the 100 anniversary of the end of the war, to at least the interior ceiling was restored, for the flat ceiling destroys in very high level of the Church.

  • Based on the images I am more looking forward to the place. Unfortunately I could not go into the building, I hope next time I will.
