(4.3/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
German Oceanographic Museum (Deutsches Meeresmuseum), a popular museum in North Germany, displays maritime and oceanographic exhibits. The large fish tank, where you can watch large sea turtles swim, is a special highlight. Don't miss the collection of shells and the whale skeleton. • Museum, as has already been noted, is housed in a former Church of St. Catherine. Accordingly, and exposure here place much by definition could not. However, it is not only building the Maritime Museum in Stralsund, there is also "Stands" in the harbor and "Nautineum" on the island. Of course, the skeleton of the whale, hovering from the ceiling, is impressive. Probably, at least for him to visit worth it.

  • The Oceanography Museum in Stralsund is located in the Centre of Stralsund. Very interesting to find out about the sea and its inhabitants and fisheries and research. 2 hours but you must plan. We had to watch the luck when feeding the turtles and sharks. Also very interesting for children. Also the aquariums were beautiful. Can it only recommend.

  • A very good and educational museum where you easily can spend many hours. Even the building and the modern adaptation of the ancient is interesting (when you are a former steel builder like me). Very nice models of boats, trapping, fishing nets, etc., that clearly explains the methods and practices.
  • A really cool museum with the history of the local fisheries and sealife.
  • The older part of the meeresmuseum-ozeaneum ensemble. Some of the exhibition pieces are aged, but still nice to look at and their meaning is not old in any way. e sure to take a tour through the aquamarine area!
  • quite old exhibition, nothing in english plus only for aquariums
  • It's definitely much worse than Ozeaneum - you can go there in case you bought combo ticket, but actually you won't find nothing special there.
