Starnberger See, Starnberg

(4.5/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
Starnberger See is one of Germany's largest lakes by volume. You can explore the surrounding geological formations created by a glacier. Walking or biking along the shoreline paths is another option. Kayaks, paddleboards, and other watersport equipment are available to rent. You may want to take one of the many ferries and boat tours, some of which travel to scenic Rose Island. Starnberger See is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Starnberg Edition.

  • The Starnberger Lake lies just genial...bei beautiful weather, great views of the mountains / rose Island, little motor boats (limited registration) and very beautiful beer garden around the Lake... Adverse effects only the traffic on the weekend & that the town of Starnberg provides too little! worth rose Island, Possenhofen paradise with Castle & 2 km away may singer natural lake with its beer garden of the extra class

  • CONCLUSION: Worth a visit and whom I like, who comes here at least a 2nd time. Germany's fifth largest lake can be the best from the water side. Drive three hours over the entire Lake with a shipping company from Bavaria, has views of countless ancient villas on the shore, several Castle (like Sissi in possenhofen Castle), an island (island of Roses) and with appropriate weather luck: an incredible alpine panorama, ranging from the Karwendel mountain range to the Zugspitze. Other experience ways there are of course also: with the bike once around the entire Lake around or from one to the next landing run or piecewise take the train on the West side. Well and there are also car hiking. On weekends when the weather it is very full in Starnberg and parking are quickly filled all benches on the waterfront are quickly. It is simply too good here.

  • Highly recommended to arrive by train from Munich, place it leaves you on the Lake, the Germans gather on the shores of the Lake to look at huge football TV matches, was lucky to be there for a World Cup and was actually very enjoyable to interfere in the way Germans living.
