Starnberger See, Starnberg
(4.6/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
Starnberger See is one of Germany's largest lakes by volume. You can explore the surrounding geological formations created by a glacier. Walking or biking along the shoreline paths is another option. Kayaks, paddleboards, and other watersport equipment are available to rent. You may want to take one of the many ferries and boat tours, some of which travel to scenic Rose Island. Starnberger See is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Starnberg Edition.

  • Lake House on the outskirts of Munich has attracted since always been prominent and Royal houses. Everywhere around the Lake, there are discreet corners - small parks, good restaurants, traditional pubs of fishing - which would justify a weeklong stay! Can enough be seen is the sights hardly! My TIPS: look at the waterfront in Starnberg and there something stroll! Well accessible by train or by car. Architecture of Starnberg is getting used to though, the audience the station around, but how about's with E cruise to the island of roses from there? Not very expensive and it is always worthwhile! Explore the economies on the eastern shore: Münsing, mountain, St. Henry with the beach bar. There you can enjoy sunsets like on Mallorca on fine sand and fine lying down! The Bernrieder Park to stroll place Tutzing enjoy (Germany's highest millionaire density!) and walking in the port Possenhofen Castle of Sissi. The possibilities are endless: sailing, SEA, boat rides, historic buildings see... all I can recommend!

  • If your in Munich for a few days this is a brilliant and easy day trip from the city centre. It is so beautiful and definitely worth your time.
  • With the Englischer Garten, this is one of the nicest corners of Munich (and nearby). Go down the weekend to eat a piece out and back in the evening after a short walk around the Lake is part of the typical activities of the Munich. Besides, pay attention to traffic jams (by going there or back)!
