Recognized as one of Germany's best and most beautiful areas for water sports and leisure, Forggensee, near Neuschwanstein castle, is the fifth-largest lake in Bavaria. For a relaxing cruise during the summer months, take one of the boat trips leaving Füssen Harbor. The mild man-made lake's 15.2 km (9.45 mi) surface area is well-suited for surfing, sailing, fishing, and boating. • We enjoyed the very informative tour of this beautiful ship and Lake with great views of the Allgäu mountains in beautiful weather.

  • A good way of seeing the lake and how the Alps merge into the landscape facing north from Fussen. We saw an eagle fly over the castles, which was a thrill. Coffee etc. Is available on the boat.
  • Ideal for long walks with or without dog or bicycle tours. From the campsite fountain to Füssen old town 1 1/2 hours walking.
