At 930 m (3,051 ft) above sea level, the manmade is the highest reservoir in Germany. You can reach it via the scenic Three Lakes Railway. The cool waters are flanked by three picturesque towns: Schluchsee, Seebrugg, and Aha, all of which epitomize the charm of German mountain villages. The 18 km (11 mi) paved walk follows the lake's shoreline. During the summer months, you can take a boat on a pleasure cruise.
