  • It is exciting and thought-provoking to see remnants of the danevirke, although it helps to have read about violence in advance and have the imagination with, for there is not so much back. But there is a piece of ca. 300 meters west of the Museum and it is impressive when you consider how many centuries the violence have been lying there. There is also a short piece, where Valdemarsmuren is exposed. There have also been recovered one of the redoubts from 1864, and it's fun to see how it has set out. From skansen, there is also a fine view over the flat landscape. The Museum is not large, but certainly worth a visit. First floor tells of danewerk and Viking, as well as the retreat in 1864 from the danevirke, while 2. floor tells about borderland Schleswig's history and the Danish-minded in Southern Schleswig. Particularly interesting are showcases for the reunification in 1920 and the vote with all of the old posters. Also fun to see the map with the percentages in each parish-I was not aware that a great many of the larger cities in sønderjylland had actual German majority or close, but overall, there was no doubt about the outcome. Overwhelming Danish in zone 1 and overwhelming German in zone 2. And on the way the result was convincing and very successful. Not even the Nazis asked question mark by the vote.

  • Who knew that ' The Danish wall ' is actually several centuries older than ' Chinese wall '? But here is a little modest museum which at best show tells the story of this important part of our history, with roots in the Viking age. Everything on the Danish, German and English. Small with good!

  • A good museum, where history is followed chronologically on the trip around-starting from very ancient times and up to WW ". A trip out on the Redoubt after following-and then have a really good feel for what the Dannevirke was/is.

  • It's a private museum run by the Danish Minority Association in Schleswig-Holsten, the lack of support by the German authorities is remarkable. The museum is a comprehensive coverage of the Danevirke defensive line whch went across the entire width of the Jutland pensinsula here at its narrowest place and its historical importance.
  • Very informative exhibition, which gives a good insight about Denmark's history, seen from South Jutland. Lacking more outdoor

  • Very well done, small museum to a very interesting historical monument. The Danevirke is still always perfectly visible, and also by his recurring importance - to modern times - fascinating - especially when one thinks of the age -.
