  • Situated on the border of Germany and Poland you can walk across the bridge from Germany to Poland and back. Wide open spaces, good place for a picnic. Lots of history in the residence. Good lookout from the tower of the surrounding area. Very relaxed environment. Some of the displays have English translations but being able to understand German would be a big asset.
  • Beautiful and expansive park with plenty to se and do. The Muskau palace is a must. Try to go up to the top of the tower for the best view to the park. There's also a really nice cafe on the 1st floor with a balcony. There's also a separate cafe/bar a couple of hundred meters from the palace that offers hot food, cold/hot drinks and ice cream. The entrance to the cafe is also the starting point for the horse drawn carriage ride through true park (the Germany side as least) as the 2/3rd of the park is in Poland.
  • Great "England garden" style park and sort of English style Palais which is located in Germany and Poland
  • One of the most beautiful parks in the world IMHO. It straddles the Poland /Germany border. Designed by Hermann Von Pückler-Muskau a great landscape architect. This place is as nice as anything that Fredrick Law Olmsted architected, but not as grand or as busy as Mount Royal or Central Park. It was trashed in World War II and the restoration did not really get rolling until the 1990s. It is now a United Nations World Heritage site. Perfect for just a walk, cycling, a picnic. There are events - very low key - throughout the year. We have visited in during every season of the year, and we always take our visitors from the US to visit.
  • Unique and extensive park with a lot of interesting trees and a friendly atmosphere (you can sit on the grass, they rent electric bikes, you can ride a horse-drawn carriage). The German part is meticulously maintained, the Polish one (twice that large) rather neglected (and much less visited). There's plenty of parking places in the town, reasonably priced.
