Historic Walking Area
Enjoy the sights from a famous beach cliff at Kreidefelsen. You can tour the visitor center of the national park, or see the famous chalk cliff from the beach, a boat tour, or a vista point off to the side. Go to the visitor center to reach the viewing area on top of the Königsstuhl (the best known chalk cliff) or to learn about the painting of the cliff by the German Romantic painter Caspar David Friedrich. His artwork made the area famous. The center also offers a video presentation on the cliffs and an interactive exhibition about the national park and natural history of the area. A long, steep stairway leads down to the beach. Put Kreidefelsen at the forefront of your travel plans using our Sassnitz vacation generator.
