Dom St. Blasien, Sankt Blasien
(4.9/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web)
Dom St. Blasien is a Benedictine monastery popular for its stunning architecture and peaceful gardens. While the exterior is impressive, you may be shocked at the interior decor. Much of the inside is white, including the seating, flooring, and stone walls, and sunlight streams in to light up the halls. Before you leave, take time to find the old statues in the garden. • Worth a visit. A huge, gorgeous white marble dome. Unlike any other I've seen in Germany. Wish we had been there for the Christmas market, but even on an average Monday, it was impressive.
  • We visited the Dom shortly during our stay in the village. Very nice atmosphere, even on a adventevening during "Weihnachtsmarkt" on the outside with all the hutts and and people.
  • Much white marble and the large 36-metre dome which is one of the largest in Europe makes it worth visiting.
