The Europa-Rosarium, formerly the Rosarium Sangerhausen, is a municipal rose garden located in Sangerhausen, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. With 8300 cultivars and species it is one of the largest rose collection in the world, playing an important role as budwood source and in research. Albert Hoffmann donated his rose collection of about 1100 different roses as a basis for the new rosarium. In 1899, the landscaping architect Friedrich Erich Doerr of Erfurt designed a formal rose garden, which was extended by an agricultural area in 1902.The garden was opened to the public with an area of 1.5 hectare in 1903. In 1913 the Hermenbüste, a statue of Princess Augusta Viktoria of Schleswig-Holstein by Arnold Künne (1866–1942) of Berlin, was inaugurated, and Frau Auguste Vogel donated 7,000 Marks to expand the garden site to 12 hectares. In 1939 the garden was again expanded to its current extent, at which time it contain some 5,000 rose varieties. In 1993 it received its current name.Take a look at our Sangerhausen day trip planning website to schedule your visit to Europa Rosarium and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

Dogs should stay outside. The small cafe are great, although expensive but nice. Otherwise, you can make anything on Sundays in Sangerhausen; opened a cafe or similar and then parking fee levy, a joke, so you could keep away tourists
Sehr gepflegt und von überwältigender Vielfalt. Sowohl das Restaurant am Haupteingang als auch das Cafe am Stadteingang zu empfehlen. more »Very well maintained and of overwhelming diversity. To recommend the restaurant at the main entrance as well as the Café at the entrance to town.
Helt fantastisk oplevelse vi var her 29/6 2017 der var helt utroligt mange smukke roser kan meget varmt anbefales at opleve more »Absolutely amazing experience we were here there was absolutely incredible 29/6 2017 many beautiful roses can very highly recommended to experience
Very impressive Gardens, enough parking (3 parking areas) the entrance fee is 10 Euros for Adult, Family ticket 24 Euros.... Quite expense but the Roses are worth it. There is also a herb garden, I was impressed by the "after eight" mint herb...... There is a small shop where all types of Roses and herbs can be purchased. There are at the shop and also scattered around the gardens Rose experts, ready to give helpful advice or directions..... There is a very nice, modern play ground near a cafe in a nice shaded area of the grounds, the price of a coffee and bratwurst is the standard price expected and not overly expensive. I was abit disappointed by the fact that same of the roses had bloomed , but different Roses have different bloom times.... Star lost due to high enterance fee. They could half the price and still make a lovely profit as it is (and rightly so) a very well visited attraction. I Enjoyed my 4 hours I spent there.
The biggest rose collection in Europe. A huge park with a lot of rare rose species. Worth a visit!
Rosarium a visit is like a journey through roses, colours, beauty and peace
nice place to visit. not many places to take a rest or toilet between gates. Cafe is rather expensive.
Quite beautiful plus the landscape view.
