Commune with the wildlife at , a zoo that specializes in monkeys. The monkeys live freely, running among the trees and even onto the pedestrian pathways if they wish. The zoo provides popcorn to feed the gentle monkeys, so you can interact with the animals. You will largely see Barbary Macaques, but also other animals like storks and deer. Feedings and demonstrations are offered in English. Add Affenberg Salem and other attractions to your Salem trip itinerary using our Salem vacation trip planner.

  • I thought it was great how everyone answered all questions. The Park is a trip worth in good weather.

  • Here you can gaze at monkeys up close and feed. You are not forced into cages, but can move freely on a huge site. The Park is also suitable for long walks. Is the price of admission. Like, I'm willing to pay more if it goes well the animals.

  • A very nice and interesting place. The Monkeys are all around and you can even feed them popcorn.
  • The park itself is clean and well run.. But it was a little boring. Not sure what I was expecting, but the monkeys just sit on railings and take popcorn out of your hand. And because of the amount of people, you stand in line to do so. You can't pet them and they don't really do anything else. My two children were bored after the 3rd monkey, and would have had more fun feeding ducks at the park. Other then the monkeys, there is a large pond with ducks and an walk through enclosure with deer which you cannot feed so they just sit under a tree off the path.
  • Good place for kids and family.

  • We were at Corpus Christi in Salem and although there was much going on, you could get good parking. After slightly longer queues at the cash and some amazement that one entry saves all 50 cent as a married couple with a child, when you choose a family card, we enjoyed the walk through the grounds. The monkeys, which can get very after feeding the Chueca are, of course, but also the "trappings" is nicely designed. It is rather unfortunate that toilets just outside the Park gates are available and so all visitors of the monkey mountain and the gastronomy there through flow. Cleanliness is of course no longer given. All in all a successful trip.
