Deutsch-Franzoesischer Garten, Saarbrucken

4.1
Deutsch-Franzoesischer Garten is part of a gardening tradition dating back to the mid-16th century, and was extensively redesigned in collaboration between France and Germany after being used as a battlefield in World War II. It's viewed as an important part of postwar heritage and a symbol of friendship between the two countries. You'll find shaded paths meandering through fragrant heather gardens, and a German millpond where you can cruise in paddleboats, as colorful peacocks wander the grounds. Ride the cable car for aerial views of the verdant 1950s'-style park, or take the mini train that runs through it. Then enjoy a game on the mini-golf course. Pick up a freshly baked pretzel at one of the kiosks on the north end, or stop at one of the cafes inside in the park for delicious German-French fusion cuisine. A visit to the DFG is always nice! You can very nice walk, feed ducks, paddle boat ride, chair lift or with the car! Miniature golf is available, but not so great! Also there is a great range of snacks and drinks, occur in the Lesepavilion!
