Garden
Deutsch-Franzoesischer Garten is part of a gardening tradition dating back to the mid-16th century, and was extensively redesigned in collaboration between France and Germany after being used as a battlefield in World War II. It's viewed as an important part of postwar heritage and a symbol of friendship between the two countries. You'll find shaded paths meandering through fragrant heather gardens, and a German millpond where you can cruise in paddleboats, as colorful peacocks wander the grounds. Ride the cable car for aerial views of the verdant 1950s'-style park, or take the mini train that runs through it. Then enjoy a game on the mini-golf course. Pick up a freshly baked pretzel at one of the kiosks on the north end, or stop at one of the cafes inside in the park for delicious German-French fusion cuisine.
