  • An absolute highlight in Thuringia: a guided tour of the State rooms of the Princes of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt. With a little luck you caught one of special tours with the "page" or the "maid". The special exhibition of Rococo en minature is a real eye-catcher! In addition, you can visit the living quarters of the Princes and a little stroll in the castle garden. The Castle Cafe, you have a great view of the city!

  • If you are in the vicinity of Rudolstadt, you should pay a visit to definitely the Heidecksburg. It is a large imposing Castle which towers over Rudolstadt. Unfortunately, we were there on a Monday, where the Museum has closed, but also the castle garden and courtyard are very beautiful. The views of Rudolstadt is very nice.

  • The Rococo Schloss Heidecksburg worth a detour in the small town as a whole is definitely. While the State rooms in the piano nobile have already their best times behind (except the newly renovated Ballroom), and the art gallery and natural history collection are little exciting, the real treasure in the ground floor can be found: "Rococo in miniature" is a fascinating collection of fantasy castles including "Residents" in the scale 1:100. You should take some time for the many witty and fascinating details. Tip: at the entrance you can borrow a flashlight, to see something in the darker corners of the castles.

  • An absolute must. Not only for Castle lovers. 100% recommended 100% worth a visit and a 100% iges coming back. You must have seen it, and seen. The leadership was very nicely done and you feel transported into a different world, if only for a short time. It would have been for me I so like all the other rooms would've seen and gelunzt in the one or the other niche or Chamber. Nevertheless, it was a super great Erlebnis.Weiter so dear team of the National Museum.
