Around the monastery courtyard, the building complex, consisting of grouped Kempowski archives, craftsman Court, café, monastery and church which was sensitively restored, including the medieval construction findings. The monastery dates back to a foundation of the Danish Queen Margaret from the year 1270, which was wrecked in storm according to legend with their ship in the Warnow. In the rooms of the monastery is to see the cultural and historical museum with its unique collection, changing exhibitions in the refectory. Both very interesting and instructive. Remarkable is also the winged altar of the monastery church, the appearance of Christ wearing a quartz crystal with wood splinters of the cross of Jesus in the place of the heart. This relic was given to Margaret on a pilgrimage by the Pope. The Museum is all visitors free of charge. An absolute must when visiting in Rostock.show original
