  • Very nice destination for a walk through and around the monastery ruins - a place to relax and find peace.

  • A hike to the ruins of the Abbey is recommended in any case. With some imagination you can have put themselves back in the time and work on the walls.

  • At the close there are many interesting tourist destinations. One of them is certainly the former monastery of Hildegard von Bingen: Disiboden has, because first away from the big crowds and secondly you can feel still the whiff of the monastic life of this vast complex of a time a very special flair over 1,000 Years and longer. If the founding father Disibod actually had seen this place in the dream as a starting point for his missionary work, I leave safely aside. This Hill has really a very special appearance at the confluence of close and Glan. Completed for himself on the top of the Hill on the one hand, but yet not isolated on the other. The monastery is of course no longer intact over the years (with the looting previous accompanied by and accidents). However you can see almost all buildings floor plan here and some are even quite a few walls. In any case, it is clear that must have been a very large facility, which spanned the entire top of the Hill at the end. Today a mixed forest has surrounded the foundations and other finds from the ancient time, it is likely a constant effort that Walt not completely overgrown with the plant. Important to know: you should be on the road quite well on foot, because by the ticket booth and Museum you must go up fairly steep hill up to the Summit; There then waits for a tour of approx. 45 min. The small museum is also worth visiting, because here a lot about the history of the "old Hildegard", as well as the monastery is narrated. There's information and pictures to the rediscovery and excavation of the plant - all really interesting and insightful. Of course the "Hildegard" spelt cookies should not be missed, however, that the young descendant of the last (private) owner of the monastery complex is also a winemaker and produces very "Shuffle-" wine is important. Rieslings with quite different and unique character - grow so predominantly on their different terroir taste in any case. There are the wines at the Museum and at the winemaker to Court next door.

  • A beautiful, wild, ruin of a monastery associated with Hildegard of Bingen. It is where she grew up. Very worth the walk up to the ruins, and the view of the valleys beneath is breathtaking. Of my journeys in Germany this stands out as a perfect memory.
  • Already in the 2nd century ad there was a Roman temple here. In the 10th century there began a varied monastic life, in which the Holy Hildegard von Bingen played an important role. Only a few remains exist of the formerly huge monastery. It looks but quite impressively.

  • Place of hl. Hildegard von Bingen. And although only walls and ruins testify to the monastery life 900 years ago, you'd think but sometimes that these walls to the visitors speak. A pristine, original place, as it is today no longer believed him. Worth seeing also Chapel 3 on the grounds. A sincere thanks to the people who keep this place carefully for posterity.

  • For all Hildegard admirer absolutely recommended. But otherwise, a wonderful place of reflection and silence, which radiates still the sublime, devotional energy one which can not resist
