Arp Museum, Remagen

(4.5/5 based on 60+ reviews on the web)
Discover the work of Jean (Hans) Arp, a founding member of the Dada movement, at Arp Museum, a museum housed inside a historic railway station that's just a short drive from the city. This 19th-century building, a classic example of early German railway architecture, long served as a cultural venue for artists from around Europe. Brahms, Schumann, and Liszt gave concerts inside, while G.B. Shaw staged several of his plays here. Long neglected after World War II, the building was listed for demolition before Johannes Wasmuth, a prominent art deal, brought it back to life in the 1960s. Take a guided tour to learn more about the museum's permanent exhibits of Arp's works, as well as the temporary displays of other notable artists from around the globe. • A Wilheminischen station with a modern style so perfectly and harmoniously to combine is worth already a vision trip. The lift from the lower level to the ARP exhibition is an event in itself. Construction art at its finest! Skillfully are the many balconies, which are of course! And then the view of a unprecedented Rhine panorama. Hans Arp us his wife Sophie Taeuber-ARP would have to make sure this other kind of insights and views looking forward. But also the work of ARP and Tabernilla is so good. The context to other topics as currently "performance 1 and performance 2." matter of taste is safe. By "andreasp934" is such a thing as "bastelstunde kindergarten" referred to. Art does not come just from may, but is in the eye of the beholder. Dada! We found all together (incl. Rheinpanorame and building) coherent and stimulating and will definitely return. The ARP exhibition will probably again new from may 2017 be... in addition the Museum by rail is accessible: 'Middle Rhine railway' them the ARP Museum hourly from the direction Mainz/Koblenz and Cologne travels to

  • ARP - Museum in Roland corner called only enthusiasm shows as a small museum with demanding Kunbstbetrieb. There must be not only the large museums, which attract visitors from around the world because of world-renowned exhibits. This small museum - by the way, as well as the Max Ernst Museum in Brühl - finds right far beyond the only attention in newspapers.

  • The educational offerings are particularly good. If I get out of the Museum, I see the world through different eyes. In the summer, we ate very nicely on the balcony.
