  • St. George is located just at the beginning of the island on a hill. It is over 1000 years old and contains well preserved frescoes dating from the 10th century as a special feature. Thus, the Church gives a very good impression, what churches looked like 1000 years ago. In the summer months there are access restrictions to protect the frescoes, then a leadership should necessarily be booked.

  • A very important church in terms of its influence on art and architecture during the Medieval period. It's quite small but has beautiful paintings on the interior walls. It's definitely worth taking some time to study them closely.
  • Splendid wall paintings showing the relevance of Reichenau as artistic Center ed the X and XI centuries. The three Romanesque churches of Richenau were declared World Heritage site by UNESCO. A very good way to visit the island is by bicycle from Constance. It is a highly recommended excursion.
